FAQ

How much do you charge?

Pricing is according to size of the band you require, venue size, distance of travel, set-up and finish times and so on, which is why we price each unique event separately. Please contact us with the details of your event for an exact quote.

How long do you play for?

Good company Band typically perform 2 x 60 minute or 3 x 40 minute sets. Providing DJ music on an iPod between performances. Acoustic sets vary from 20 minutes up to an hour long. With more information of your event, we are happy to discuss desired set lengths.

Do you need a stage?

A stage, how ever lovely, is not essential. We have many years gigging experience under our belts, and have played everything from large festival stages to small pubs. In our experience however, the quality of the specially allocated performance space for the band contributes largly to the overal vibe of entertainment for both the audience and performers.

How much space do you need?

​Around 5m x 4m for a 5-piece band is fine. We are practiced at squeezing into small spaces so it is worth enquiring with us if you have any concerns regarding space.

Does Good Company require a deposit?

Yes. We require 25% of the final booking to confirm a date. This charge will be included as part of the overall hire of the band and not as an extra cost. A contract will be send out to confirm all payment details.

How far will you travel?

​Though we are a Brighton based band, we are happy to travel all over to perform at your event! Though, it should be noted that bookings that are over 3 and a half hours away from our base in Brighton, an accommodation surcharge will be added to the fee, based on local rates at the time of booking. For events outside of the UK, please contact us for more information.

When do we pay?

Good Company require full payment ahead of the date of the event. This is generally dealt with via an online transaction. We will send you a contract for you to sign and return to us confirming all payent and performance details during the booking process.

How long does the band take for breaks?

​Between 15 and 30 minutes depending on how long our performance sets are. This can also be longer if you require time for speeches, raffles or any other activity.​

How long do you need to set up?

​This is very important - Typically a full 90 minutes is needed, as this includes setting up a PA, lighting, full drum kit and amplifiers. We will also use this time to complete a full soundcheck. Please inform us if the load in route for the band area is particularly tricky or includes steps etc as this may add to the time needed for us to set up!

Can we use the PA/Microphones for speeches?

​This would preferably be arranged with us during the enquiry stage of your booking. We can provide you with a separate cabled mic for you to use that will be situated near the stage area. After we have performed a full sound check, made sure the equipment is safe and at a reasonable volume, you may use the equipment for speeches. 

Does Good Company use backing tracks?

​No. Good Company are a fully Live band. Unless otherwise requested.

Is the Good Company Band insured?

​Yes. Good Company holds full public liability insurance up to £10,000,000. And our equipment is ‘PAT’ safety tested.

What technical requirements do the band have?

​- A safely earthed supply of electricity from the venue in the from of two separate 13amp plug sockets at a 240 volt supply  from the mains (This is a standard double plug socket).

Does the band have any personal requirements?

We require a mimimum of:
-  Drink refreshments (preferably water).

- A hot meal for the evening.

- Private space off stage is preferred for storage of our belongings and equipment in addition to costume changes, relaxing between breaks and generally for keeping the band 'out of the way'.

Do you take requests or play encores?

​Good Company may well play something extra for you if it seems like you're really keen....
